Design build services were provided for this owner to build a new Office and Warehouse Building for this environmental emergency response company which had outgrown its previous space in Clinton. A 7,000 sf warehouse and 2-story office space, with 3,000 sf on each floor, were constructed within a pre-engineered metal building, providing the owner with a cost-effective means of meeting the company’s needs. The building is situated on a large parcel which required substantial sitework for proper storm drainage. In addition to asphalt paving for parking, sidewalk, and landscaping, the project scope included 2.5 acres of crushed stone paving for company equipment and lay-down area.

Design build services were provided for Primos Hunting Calls to contruct a new manufacturing, distribution, and sales facility in Flora, Mississippi. The 53, 617 sf pre-engineered metal building has a standing seam metal roof and metal wall panels with brick and wood siding at the showroom. The space includes office, sales, showroom, commercial kitchen, manufacturing, warehouse, shipping & receiving areas. With wood plank floors, ceiling, panelled walls, brick fireplace, and custom built wood millwork and furniture, the showroom and front porch feel like a hunting lodge. According to owner, Will Primos: “The new building has allowed us to really streamline the flow of things around here.” With the success of the first project and the growth the company experienced, the client hired us again to design and build a 49,000 sq ft warehouse addition in 2005.

Design build services were provided for Systems Electro Coating, a Tier 1 supplier for Nissan North America’s automotive manufacturing plant in Canton, Mississippi. Due to high volume and demand, SEC needed to expand their current facility in Madison County while not interrupting their production schedule and commitments to the Nissan plant. Careful design, flawless coordination, and strategic project phasing were required to provide our client with this integrated building addition while they continued to receive and send product orders daily, using the same access road and portion of building receiving the addition.

About Project

General Contracting and design assist services were provided to Howa International, a Nissan Supplier, who recently relocated to Canton, MS. The project involved retrofitting a portion of Nissan’s existing Southern Logistics Facility to house the industrial sized cranes and equipment that this international headliner and door panel supplier needs to manufacture their products. A great deal of coordination and planning was required in order to satisfy both the landlord (Nissan) and the tenant (Howa). New concrete foundations were installed to support the weight of their equipment. New management offices, breakrooms, and restroom facilities were built. And all new industrial, mechanical, and electrical systems were installed to work with the highly mechanized, robotic, equipment that arrived from all over the world. The project was a great success. It was built ahead of schedule allowing plenty of time for equipment start-up and testing and employee training prior to the production deadline.

General Construction services were provided for Brown Bottling Group Inc. to establish a new state of the art distribution center in central Mississippi. This was the third building project in a five-year period for BBG and another repeat business client for Copeland and Johns, Inc. This tilt-up concrete panel facility houses corporate offices and distribution and warehouse space. Architectural curved walls and dramatic eyebrow canopies make this unique design stand out to all that pass by. Primarily selling Pepsi Cola and Dr. Pepper products while representing other top selling products in the beverage industry, this facility services clients in central Mississippi and the greater metropolitan area.

Construction Management At-Risk services were provided for a privately held Mississippi Company relocating to Clinton, Mississippi. We were hired during the investigation time of this existing facility to ensure the Taylor Family would make the most economical decision for relocation. Renovations in the plant area included the modification of foundation and structural components for new cranes, paint booths, and overhead doors; and erection of a pre-engineered building addition for large unit testing. In this relocation, the power systems corporate, sales, and accounting offices were strategically placed to flow with the crucial manufacturing space. Each day, over 22 new power generators are manufactured, tested, and staged for delivery.

Copeland and Johns, Inc. was pleased to continue our two decade long partnership with National Presto Industries at their local Canton Sales & Storage facility in Canton, MS. Design Build Construction services were provided for a 72,000 sq ft warehouse addition., as well as the exterior and interior renovation of 4.000 sq ft of office space. The design was coordinated with the client to provide a state of the art facility that would optimize distribution efficiency for this international distribution center. The building and site layout were designed to easily accommodate future expansion as the facility’s volume of work continues to grow. With strategic planning and coordination, we were able to complete the warehouse addition and office renovations while the facility remained fully operational. To meet the client’s needs, construction was completed in just five months, allowing expanded operation during the seasonal holiday peak.

About Project

Design build services were provided for this well-known international client, based in Hanover, Germany, to build a new Training Center in Clinton, MS. The 23,000 sf ft building is a LEED certified Silver rated project and will offer a state of the art training facililty to support Continental Tire’s upcoming new manufacturing plant which will produce commercial vehicle tires for North America. The Training Center is the first building constructed on the campus and includes offices, computer labs, multi-purpose rooms with operable partitions, specialized training rooms, loading docks, and a high bay training area. The exterior design of this structural steel building includes an impressive main entrance soffit with wing walls, aluminum storefront systems, integrated sunshades, aluminum composite metal wall panels, and a TPO roofing system. Preconstruction services included cost analysis, scheduling, and coordination with the client, architects, and engineers. Construction was completed within 10 months.
