Design build and general construction services were provided to these clients for the renovation of a multi-tenant shopping center in Columbus, Mississippi. The project involved reconfiguring several tenant demising walls to accommodate an additional tenant in the retail center. The work involved the demolition of an existing exterior facade and construction of 2 new storefront facades that adhered to the Brand architecture of the well-known tenants. Without the space to add an exterior loading dock in the rear of the building, our design team met the client’s need by retrofitting a loading dock and truck well inside the Petsmart tenant space. Our crew was also hired to construct the tenant finish-out for Petsmart. Byworking hand in hand with the landlord, the tenants and brand architects, our team was able to meet each of the client’s needs and successfully complete the project in 7 months.

General construction services were provided for another repeat business client who hired us to build or renovate 3 multi-tenant retail centers in Byram, Vicksburg, and Tupelo, simultaneously.  Each of the multi-tenant retail centers was anchored by C Spire Wireless, the nation’s largest privately held wireless communications provider. Each project was completed by working in partnership with the landlord, the architects, and all the tenants, which varied from 3 to 6 per location. Tenant coordination, brand architecture, and the landlord’s requirements were properly planned and built to suit the needs and timeframe at each location.

General Construction services were provided for Jackson Street Mixed Use Development, for a new building complex located on 4 acres. The development is located in Jackson Street Historic District of Ridgeland and adapts to the current urban standards. This project includes three two-story buildings which serve an upscale women’s clothier, day spa, and bicycle shop.. Elys Restaurant, one of the top fine dining restaurants of central Mississippi is housed in the main building. This electic shopping area is highlighted in Ridgeland Tourism’s guide to experiencing the City of Ridgeland.

About Project

Design Build services were provided for The Courthouse to expand its well-known and reputable fitness business to Brandon, Mississippi. The 24,684 sq ft building included space for the fitness center and multiple tenants, including a Jump Zone for kids. The fitness center included a lobby with central reception desk, large open area for cardio and weight machines, two rooms for group exercise classes, three tanning bed rooms, laundry room, and spacious restrooms, showers, and locker rooms. Mechanical and electrical systems were carefully designed to accommodate the equipment layout and to create a comfortable environment for the staff and members. The building exterior finishes included brick veneer, splitface CMU, EIFS, and storefront glass systems. An aggressive schedule was successfully met, with the project being completed within 8 months.

About Project

After completing 3 multi-center retail centers in 2010, that were anchored by C Spire Wireless, the nation’s largest privately held wireless communications provider, the satisfied client hired us again in 2012 to build 2 new retail centers for C Spire at which time the brand’s architecture had changed dramatically. The projects, which were located in Clinton and Southaven were constructed simultaneoulsy and successfully completed within 6 months.

General Construction services were provided for one of the fastest growing casual restaurant chains in the US and its second location in Mississippi. Working in partnership with Corporate staff, the designers, and the City of Madison, we were able to complete this project in record time of 113 days. This project added the first restaurant to the existing 70,000 square feet of retail at The Forum at Grandview. The 4,800 sf building with covered outdoor dining can serve 218 patrons. Architectural features include a corner tower with clay roofing tiles and a copper finial; a bold, curved parapet, fiberglass brackets, and EIFS cornice. Canvas awnings, wood shutters, steel plant trellises, gooseneck lighting, and gas lantern give the building its own distinctive look while remaining true to the franchise brand.

About Project

Design build services were provided for this client to add a new restaurant to an adjoining shopping center in Columbus, MS. The project involved converting an old garden center for a big box store into a new, welcoming food establishment for the popular franshise. Extensive planning and coordination with the designer, developer, tenant and corporate franchise were required to retrofit the new building into an existing footprint between the existing shopping center and an existing retaining wall. An additional challenge was getting the necessary utilities to the restaurant, as property lines and existing buildings blocked access. The exterior finishes included EIFS, storefront, stick on stone, western cedar framing, and decorative steel fence that created a rustic look and atmosphere that continued with interior finishes of reclaimed tin and barn wood. The bar top and back of bar was custom made, utilizing reclaimed wood and old truck bodies for a wonderfully unique presentation. The project was completed within 6 months and ended with a satisfied developer, tenant and corporate office.

About Project

This client hired Copeland and Johns, Inc. to provide Construction Management services to build a state-of-the-art mixed use development at Russell and Mill streets in the City of Starkville. We provided pre-construction and design-assist services by working closely with the project architect and performing on-going estimates and cost analyses in order to bring the project within the client’s budget. The development includes two buildings, with one being a brick and EIFS clad, three-story building, which will house luxury condominiums on the two upper floors and retail shops, restaurants, and businesses on the ground level. The building features true balconies, vinyl awnings, storefront, vinyl windows, metal railing, and EIFS trim. The second building will be a one-story brick building with storefront and metal canopies and space for up to three commercial tenants. This development has been designed to complement this commercial district which is also home to The Mill. The project is scheduled to be completed within eight months.
